Second Hour Kids

Second Hour  //   Released prior to the Sermon

Infant and Todder childcare are available for the entire service. Kids ages 3 through 3rd grade begin with worship in the service and then exit for Catechism classes. Here’s how it works:

Parents, you will check your child in prior to service and they will be dismissed at the beginning of announcements. A parent/guardian will accompany the child to childcare “line” outside the doors of the Worship Center and check-in the child using the sheet provided by the childcare volunteer. (Note: If your child has been to Sunday school and still has their KidCheck name tag, no need to check them in but just have them join the line). During their time in our Second Hour Kids program, your child will be taught a brief catechism lesson based on the New City Catechism.

Family Worship Sundays

We’re calling kids to worship the King! Family Worship Sundays are designed for kids to worship with the rest of the body of Christ for the entire service. These weekends fall on holidays when we break from the normal cadence of life and service. We are prepared for extra wiggles and expressive worship! Parents, you can prepare your child ahead of time by talking about what the experience will be like and by snagging a sermon notes page (& a piece of candy) at the back of the Worship Center. This is a different routine for your kids, which means your experience will be different too! Trust that this is an investment in discipleship for your kids.

On Family Worship Sundays, childcare is provided for kids ages 0-4 in Room 180 during second service. Please enter the KidZone and sign in at the classroom door.

Family Resources for 2022-2023

Tools for At-Home Discipleship

FaithKids is releasing new resources for at-home discipleship for the upcoming year. To purchase, stop by the Info Desk before or after services, or email Kendra Carter at kendra@faithliveitout.org. The four resources available for purchase are:

“More Than A Story: Old Testament” Bible Resource – If you liked the Jesus Storybook Bible, you’ll definitely want to check this book out. More Than a Story: Old Testament is a new kind of Bible resource for children—taking them on a chronological journey through the Bible with a God-centered, gospel-focused, discipleship-oriented, theologically grounded perspective. Written in an interactive style, it enables parents and children to engage in conversations addressing the mind, heart, and will, encouraging children to “set their hope in God” (Psalm 78:7). Above all, More Than a Story was written to inspire the worship of God for the glory of God!  It’s a great devotional Bible for preschooler through elementary kids.

Foundations Verses  – Foundation Verses (ESV) are strategically chosen Bible verses for children 2-5 years old. The pack includes 76 short passages with image prompts to help non-readers remember the passage. The vision of this set is to lay a firm foundation of basic biblical truth that will pave the way for faith response and establish the habit of hiding God’s Word in the heart.

Foundations Verses Coloring Book – This is a companion resource to the Foundations Verses. The coloring book gives children of a visual representation of each of the 76 verses found in the Foundations Verse memory set.

Fighter Verses – This scripture memory tool is for elementary-adults. This Fighter Verses™ compilation of 260 passages will help believers fight the fight of faith. They provide the encouragement we need daily, focusing our thoughts in three main directions: fixing our hearts on the character and worth of our great God; battling the desires of our flesh; and rejoicing in the work of Christ in the Gospel. If you did the math, you figured out that is breaks down to 52 passages per year for 5 years. Don’t worry! You can go at your own pace! *Note: there is also an app version too.

Fighter Verses Coloring Book – This is a companion resource to the Fighter Verses. The coloring book gives children of all ages a visual representation of each of the 52 verses along with a key truth statement to focus on. It encourages them memorize the verse along with the whole family. It’s a great too to assist your younger kiddos as they memorize the same scripture verse as older siblings.
