AWANA Program 2023-2024

AWANA registration is closed for the current school year. Check back August 1, 2024 to enroll in the 2024-2025 school year program.

At AWANA, kids are given the opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus through engaging Bible lessons, scripture memorization and small group discussions with friends.

When:

AWANA Club meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm.

Age Groups:

Cubbies – Preschool (Ages 3-4, children must be potty trained.)

Sparks – Kindergarten – 2nd Grade

Truth and Training (T&T) – 3rd-5th Grade

[Note: Cubbies will only be available to Faith Church attenders due to limited space. If you would like your preschooler put on the waitlist to see if spots are available after registration closes, please email awana@faithchurchindy.com]

Club Night Experience:

Cubbies participate in large group (singing, Bible story and puppet show), games, handbook, snack and free play.

Sparks and T&T have a 30 minute rotation from large group (singing and Bible lesson), games and small group handbook time (discussion, snack and scripture memorization).

Supplies:

All kids will be given an AWANA bag to store/transport materials (handbooks/bibles). Kids will use these bags from Cubbies through T&T.

Parent Meeting:

A parent meeting will be held on our first night of club. Please plan to meet at the KidZone Desk after taking your kids to their classrooms. The goal is to start the meeting at 6:40pm and take about 20 minutes to discuss content, building rules and how to help your child at home with scripture memorization.

For New Students:

When you register, the fee covers all the supplies (AWANA bag, vest/shirt and handbook) that your child needs for club each week. They will receive these items on the first club night. Please attend the parent meeting for more information about how club works and how to use the resources provided.

For Returning Students:

If your child lost their AWANA bag, unfinished handbook (applies to 2nd & 3rd year Sparks only) or AWANA vest/shirt (applies to 2nd year Cubbies and 2nd & 3rd year Sparks and T&T), families will be asked to pay a replacement fee for those items. The fees are: $15 per handbook or vest, $10 per T&T shirt and $7 per AWANA bag. Replacements can be purchased when you register your child. During the year, please email awana@faithchurchindy.com to order replacements.

Optional Dinner Available Before Club:

Faith Student Ministry runs the Midweek Café on Wednesday nights from 6-6:20pm! They will have a variety of dinner options at extremely reasonable prices. FSM is not intending to make money/profit from the café, but any profit that might be made will be donated to ministries that FSM partners with (Compassion International, Shepherd Community Center, etc.). Please allow adequate time for your kids to eat and make it to club on time. FOOD WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOMS.

General Sickness Policy:

Please keep your child home from club if they have the following symptoms: fever, diarrhea, or vomiting (within the past 24 hours), runny nose, congested cough, eye Infection/pink eye, rash/skin infections (other than diaper rash), lice.

Bible Memorization:

Cubbies have weekly lessons to read with parents and a verse to memorize before they come to club. The lesson schedule is located in the front of their Handbook for your convenience. If your child misses a week, he or she can always catch up and say 2 verses the next week.

Sparks progress through the book at their own pace. The Spark Handbook has 39 sections, so kids should try to complete 2 sections a week if they want to complete a book in a year. Sparks can also work on memorizing sections over the long holiday break if they’d prefer to tackle the book at a more relaxed pace.

T&T is discussion based but each section does have a memory verse too. The lesson schedule located in the front of the T&T handbook can be used to find the weekly memory verses. T&T should read the section(s) and memorize the verse BEFORE coming to club. When kids read the lesson in advance, it creates better small group discussion.

*Awana leaders often feel like time goes fast in small groups making it difficult to cover all the content in the handbooks with the kids. Please consider partnering with our leader in discipling your kids by spending sometime during the week helping your kids with their handbooks.*

Cost:

AWANA is $50 for one child with a $150 family max. *To request a scholarship or large family discount code, email: awana@faithchurchindy.com prior to registration.*
