MDE is in need of mature believers to serve as prayer partners & spiritual mentors. MDE supports individuals who are establishing a business or working in areas of the world without an established church. Their purpose is to share the gospel and establish churches in those places. Those individuals need partners who will pray with them, help them stay grounded in the Word, and encourage their efforts. They are asking Faith members to consider that opportunity to be involved in missions from home. If you’re interested to learn more about MDE, watch this video. You can email Mark Canada to apply as a mentor.
Join local community advocacy and outreach with Nora Neighborhood Ambassadors.
Help in one of the four advocacy groups and receive training as needed:
Education – Tutor students (in-person and virtual options) and help families navigate the virtual school year. There are a variety of ways you can offer education support – fill out this form if you’re interested.
Social Services – Help connect Nora neighbors to community services (doctors , dentists, tax prep, food stamps, child services and/or coaching those residents looking for financial counseling, home ownership, finding a job, or benevolence assistance from Faith Church).
Food – Help with First Baptist Church’s (and sometimes Nora Elementary’s) monthly food pantry.
Housing – Field maintenance calls on our help line – coach residents on how to request the services they need from the complex, and/or advocating on their behalf when needed.

Volunteer to teach English
Due to social distancing restrictions, classroom structure will be different this year than it has been in the past. Each classroom will have only 2-16 adult students. They will also have between one and three instructors. Virtual teaching opportunities also exist.
Training is provided for all volunteer instructors, and support is offered throughout the year. If you’re new to the program, you’ll receive several weeks of training to prepare.
Volunteer with FIEC Kids
Have a heart for working with kiddos? All FIEC students are invited to bring their children (ages 6 weeks-13 years) to FIEC Kids. Children are grouped in classrooms by age. Teacher and helper volunteer positions are available across all age ranges. Kids in preschool through 4th grade are provided with one hour of curriculum per evening with the remainder of the time free play. Older children play games and receive help with their homework. Younger children only engage in guided free play for the two hours. Curriculum, crafts, and snacks are supplied each week.
Short-Term Volunteer Roles
Please come along side us! There are many short-term volunteer opportunities available, like being a substitute instructor, setting up classrooms, help with special events, and more.
The Guest Services Team is always looking to grow their team. There are a variety of ways to serve on the team, even some that are behind the scenes. You can sign up on your own but also as a family – if you have junior high and high school students, this is great way to serve together! Email Catherine if you’re interested.
If you’re attending Sunday in-person services, we could use your help on the Media Team! You may feel that this is out of your element, but there are many ways to be a part of the team and you’ll receive the training you’d need; all you really need is a heart to serve! Email email@example.com if you’re interested.
The Sunrise Team works behind the scenes to unlock doors, turn on lights, and set up spaces on Sunday mornings. They do the things that enable us to meet together and worship. But they need a few more volunteers! So, if you’re a morning person and interested in serving, contact Brittany for more details.
