The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted life in many ways, but the need for our immigrant neighbors to learn English continues. Faith International English Classes (FIEC) is planning on conducting socially distanced, but in-person classes in the fall. We believe that in-person classes will best fulfill our mission to love students well and teach them English well. All adult students and instructors will be required to wear face masks at all times and to remain at least six feet apart as much as they can in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.
We will also be providing tutoring virtually for those who are quarantined or who cannot come in person for medical reasons.
In order to provide both in-person instruction and on-line tutoring as well as childcare for those attending in person, we need a large staff. If you are interested in helping our neighbors by forming personal, caring relationships that help them flourish in the United States, then volunteering with FIEC may be for you! You’ll gain new perspectives, make new friends from a variety of backgrounds, and share stories, customs, and lives.
