Spring Connection Classes Begin
Check out the classes we’ll be offering this quarter!
1st Hour (9:00-10:15 am)
Habits of Grace [Room 152]
Taught by: Larry Reed
Hear his voice. Have his ear. Belong to his body. Three simple principles shape and strengthen the Christian life. This class both explores David Mathis’s book “Habits of Grace” and practices these habits together. This class will be limited to six participants, so sign-ups are required. Click here to register!
1st & 2nd Timothy [Room 244]
Taught by: Matt Saefkow & Paul Petro
Written by the Apostle Paul to his protégé Timothy in the mid-60s A.D., these letters to a young pastor emphasize the life-transforming power of the gospel and the need to continue living in the gospel despite potential suffering. Along with warnings against false teachers, Paul encourages Timothy to let his life be shaped by the gospel. This class will walk through these two letters to bring out these and other key themes.
How We Got Our Bible [Room 210]
Taught by: Nathan Kingsley & Steve Shambaugh
Ever wondered how you got your Bible, other than ordering it off Amazon? This class walks through the history of the Bible: when the various books and letters were written, how they were passed down to us, and how we can know that the translations we have are reliable.
The Enneagram for Spiritual Growth [Room 248]
Taught by: Jen Derksen & Ann Derksen
What’s your number? Often misunderstood simply as a personality test, the Enneagram is a useful tool for spiritual growth and transformation. This class will focus on understanding the 9 types of the Enneagram as a way to understand ourselves and others as well as provide direction for growth in Christ-likeness.
Interested in taking what you’re learning one step further? Attend an Enneagram Retreat practicing the disciplines of silence, solitude and stillness. We will discuss how our Enneagram number can give us direction in our spiritual practices. This retreat is only open to those who are already attending the Enneagram Connection Class. Register to attend today!
If I Could Only Talk About One Thing [Room 246]

2nd Hour (10:45-12:00 pm)
Recharging Your Community Group [Room 244]
Taught by: Julie Foster
Through study of Pastor Jeff Vanderstelt’s book “Saturate: Being Disciples of Jesus in the Everyday Stuff of Life”, this class will help community group leaders and participants “tune up” their groups, learning principles and practices to help their groups become a vehicle for evangelism in their neighborhoods as a community of Spirit-empowered ordinary people living out their relationship with Jesus in all the “everyday stuff of life.” Don’t have a community group? Come and learn about what one might look like, and how you might get started!
Luke, Part 3 [Room 210]
Taught by: John King
Thoroughly researched and tightly constructed, Luke’s Gospel strongly argues before a Greek audience that Jesus is the King, not just of Israel, but of the whole world. In this, the last of a three-part foray into Luke, participants will continue to move through Luke’s Gospel, spending focused time on the Passion Week, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus.
Joshua, Part 2 [Room 152]
Taught by: Stafford Walker & Jack Rogers
This quarter we continue our study of the book of Joshua, learning what happened after Moses’ tenure as Israel’s leader ended, about the early years in the Promised Land, and what a life of faith looks like in difficult circumstances.
