FaithKids Advent Family Night
Join us for a family event to prepare for Advent!
This Advent season, help your family to understand the birth of Christ as the climactic event of a much larger story ― a story about God’s mission to redeem sinful people for his glory. We’re having an Advent Family Night on November 20th to make 24 ornaments to match the daily readings! This is a “open house” style party from 6-8:30pm. Families can come when they can and leave when they’ve completed their ornaments. Parents will lead their kids through the craft stations and make family memories while making each ornament (allow for closer to 2 hrs if your family is working in 1 group or about 1 hr if your family divides into 2 groups to make their crafts).
Oh, and it’s party! Expect good music and treats too! What better way to help kids visualize the unfolding of the story then building it on their own tree with ornaments you’ve made together.
Tracing Glory: The Christmas Story Through the Bible by Sarah Rice is the accompanying twenty-five day Advent devotional. It begins by looking back at the creation of the world in the book of Genesis and ends by looking forward to the new creation in the book of Revelation, tracing the glory of Jesus Christ from start to finish. In each day’s reading, there is a key Scripture to look up, a devotional commentary to read, and a helpful summary highlighting the key point and showing how that particular Bible passage points to Jesus.
Date and Time: November 20th from 6:00-8:30pm
Cost: $20 (includes devotional book & supplies for ornaments to be made at the event)
Registration Deadline: November 6th
