Tuesday, although already tired from the 2 nights of little sleep, we had a fun day serving at Shepherd Community Center. In the morning we had a service day in which we chopped down a lot of brush lining the fence around Shepherd. We finished early and had a few minutes to relax and got to spend some extra time with the kids. We had lunch and then recess, and several of us had some meaningful spiritual and personal conversations with the kids, which was a blessing. Several kids bonded with the volunteers by playing games and doing crafts as well. After recess the boys had a pool day, and had a blast. After returning to Shepherd, we had a delicious taco dinner before playing some soccer, basketball, and various board and card games.
Please pray for wisdom, both for volunteers and Shepherd interns in dealing with the kids, so we may be able to work with the kids well. Pray for us all to have the heart of a servant, extending Christ’s love to each and every one of the kids, no matter what they act like. Please pray for rest and sleep for the team in the next few days.
