Thank you all for your prayers for us! Day 1 of camp was successful. We spent the day getting to know our students, assessing their English skills, and determining the best way to do things. We are hoping today is the hottest day of the week. We had rain move in this afternoon, and it cooled us off wonderfully, but it did require a few changes to our plans. Thankfully, it started after we had finished lunch. You can see in the photos that we do some activities outside. We do English classes, Crafts, a homework help time (all Italian students have summer school work, and they get help with it from our Italian helpers), Science activities, and a longer arts time inside in the afternoon (but I don’t have photos of those right now).
Please be in prayer for
- Endurance for all of us, especially the students who are working as our translators. We get a break time, they do not.
- The ability to get to know the campers better, even with the language differences. The students know English vocabulary VERY well. (They could name many fruits today, when I started to quiz them). They can not converse well.
