The Faith Church team has (nearly all) landed in Warsaw and will spend the night there. We say “nearly all” because Rebecca’s husband (who will remain nameless if not blameless) somehow grabbed her old passport in Indy, an error not discovered until the check-in at the LOT Polish Airlines desk at O’Hare. So a “quick dash” back home to rectify it has Rebecca arriving on the same flight a day later. Please pray for her safe arrival.
We all serendipitously connected with the visiting Steve and Nancy Wooden at the church as we loaded for Chicago. Many know they were Faith Church missionaries that began our connection with KTS almost three decades ago. What a blessing to pray with them for this team’s trip representing Faith to these most special partners in Ukraine!
Alyssa’s flight originating in Nairobi with two stops arrived just before us in Warsaw, so we all got checked into our hotel for one night before we travel to Lublin, Poland, tomorrow afternoon. All our luggage made it! We had coffee and lemonade at a sidewalk cafe and bookstore, then a most-amazing dinner at a Polish restaurant this evening (we can wax eloquent on the pierogies and a roasted pear/ goat cheese and smoked sausage salad that can only be tasted to be believed). We now nurse our jet-lag and sleep hard ahead of tomorrow’s adventures.
Please do pray for our travels together tomorrow, and for God to prepare our hearts and minds with the words and actions that will speak life to these traumatized, exhausted Ukrainians who will arrive Monday. Praise God for what He has yet accomplished and what He has yet to do.
