Classes for Winter 2025
First Hour | 9:00-10:15 AM
Grown-Up Sunday School
Room 244
Led by: Thomas Frankie
We’re continuing the Grown-Up Sunday School class, tracking throughout the year with the same curriculum that our children are learning downstairs, but with an adult lens. Using the lesson that the kids are learning each Sunday as a starting point, we will engage the same stories and topics from an adult perspective. Whether you’re a parent or not, this will be a way to re-engage topics you learned as a child with fresh eyes. For parents, you will leave with a deeper understanding of what your kids are learning and how to disciple them in the Word throughout the week.
Paul’s Letters to Thessalonica: What’s here for us?
Room 152
Led by: Dr. Glenn Deckert
Dr. Glenn Deckert will be leading a first-hour grow class studing in 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. Glenn is a retired “tent-maker” missionary with masters degrees from Wheaton and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and PhD in Education from University of Illinois. He’s the author of “Working Abroad with Purpose: The Way of a Tentmaker.” His career led him to positions in Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Qatar, Moldova, and Azerbaijan. The Grow Class will be rich in application to daily life in Christ, as well as bible study methods you can use in your personal study anywhere in the Bible.

The Bible as a Whole (But Not the Whole Bible)
Room 210 and Zoom
Led by: Chet Wood
God’s Story of his goal to build on earth a just society of his people for his honor. This narrative covers the Bible as a whole but not the whole bible. Concerned with division of this drama into Acts and scenes with helpful labels. Touching violence, injustice, prophecy, oppression, and the relation of Israel to the Church. We’ll be asking, “Why Israel?” given that Jesus is the answer. Click the link for the Zoom meeting or use the info below:
